How selling surplus wire works
Four steps from the reel tag to a signed-off pickup. No accounts, no listing fees, no obligation to accept the number we come back with.
1. Send the material details
Use the quote form on this site or call +1 (614) 715-3047. The useful facts are the wire type (THHN, XHHW-2, MC, tray cable, SER, URD, 15 kV EPR and so on), the metal, the gauge or MCM size, the voltage rating, roughly how many feet or reels you have, and the city where the material is stored. Condition and packaging matter too: new surplus, unused, partial reel, used or unknown; reel, spool, coil, carton or loose.
Photos do most of the work. A wide shot of the reels, a close-up of the jacket legend, a shot of the reel tag or label and a shot of the wire ends will usually answer every question we would otherwise have to ask by email.
2. We review the load
A reviewer checks four things: what the material actually is, whether the quantity is worth a truck, what condition it is in, and whether there is current demand for that construction and size. Mixed pallets with no labels take longer, because every reel has to be identified before it can be priced.
If something is unclear we ask. We would rather send three questions than guess at a number and renegotiate at the dock.
3. You get a quote
The quote reflects metal, size, insulation type, voltage class, condition, total quantity and current copper or aluminum market levels. It is an offer for the material as described. If the load turns out to be different on inspection — different footage, water damage, mixed sizes — we will talk about it before anything moves.
4. Pickup, freight and paperwork
Most sellers have us collect: we arrange a truck or freight carrier and load at your dock. If you prefer to ship on your own account, we can work that way too. Tell us about dock height, forklift capacity, reel weights and any site access restrictions in the request so the pickup is planned properly the first time.
Wire that is still usable stays in circulation instead of sitting in a rack until the insulation is brittle. That is the whole point of the program.
Have the details ready?
Send the form and we will come back with a review, a quote, or the specific questions that get us there.
